The golf course is a championship course with three lakes and fountains and mature trees. It is 5981 metres long from the championship tees.
The course was first established in Pukekohe township but has been in Karaka for the last 75 years. It has over 800 members and has a well developed coaching programme for beginners, juniors and 9 hole players. It is a member’s only golf course but does have selected times for green fee players and is, affiliated to New Zealand Golf. On selected days the golf course is available for hire by businesses and corporate organizations.
This information is designed for your organization to be able to hire the course and to ensure you and your guests have a great day of golf and social activity.
In order for us to ensure that your event runs well and that we provide you with all the information that relate to the conditions of having a golfing event at the Pukekohe Golf Course, we have outlined information for you to work with. We in turn would like to be reassured that all participants in this event are advised of the Clubs conditions of play, the appropriate dress standards and that appropriate golfing etiquette to be observed on the day.
The following details are designed to cover all details as they relate to the Golf Event.
Event Bookings
The club receives many requests for events and you should make tentative enquiries with the club well in advance of the requested date.
Confirmation of the numbers participating in the event should be advised to the club within 30 days and within 8 days the final number attending.
It is important that event organizers and club management meet at least once prior to the event to determine the events programme and to become familiar with the facilities of the club.
The organizing team at the Pukekohe Golf Club is the following:
Ian Litchfield – General Manager
Craig Smith – PGA Professional & Golf Manager
Mark Hartland – Hospitality/Administration Manager
Tee Ngataki – Manager of The Tea Cup Cafe.
The cost to hire the course
The cost to hire the golf course and facilities is $3,000.00 plus catering and drinks. This includes the full use of the course while your event is being held including as much signage and other branding requirements.
However the General Manager and the Course Manager must have direct involvement in where the signs are to be erected. We have predetermined best placement positions for signs, display stands, stalls and show vehicles around the course, and at each hole to ensure they do not interfere with the game of golf, and for safety reasons.
We would require a 10% deposit ($300.00) 30 days prior to the event which is not refundable.
For large groups
For large group bookings of over 100 players the club can provide a Course Marshall if requested. The Marshall shall ensure the playing speed and golf club etiquette is being observed. He/she has the authority to request that all players abide by these rules.
Catering
We are happy to assist with your decisions on your food and beverage requirement for the event. The Pukekohe Golf Clubs caterers are contracted to provide catering services to the club. The supply of all food for the golf course must come from the caterer and a requirement of the Liquor License we hold, all alcohol must be purchased and consumed on the golf course.
The caterer has a comprehensive list of set menus that caters for all tastes and price levels. Typically but not restricted to the following is what many corporate companies ask us to do:
At the start of play we have a BBQ going were either sausages and bread etc are available at $2.50 each or we can do a Bacon & Egg muffin for $5.00.
After the game we can provide table platters ranging from $6.00 to $10.00. Or if you prefer a full meal, main courses are about $17.00 and with a desert $22.00.
